Stephen Foskett, Pack Rat: Iomega ix2-200 Adds iSCSI, Sync To Dual-Drive SOHO NAS

What? No mention of and NETGEAR products, like the ReadyNAS Duo or the new Stora? They do most of the same things - and the Duo can be upgraded on the fly for data-in-place migrations.

Disclamer: I work for NETGEAR so I might be biased. However, the 2008 Gartner report listed us as the 5th larges storage vendor under $25K, and we had half as many products last year. Just thought your readers may be interested.

Sorry, Drew, but I don't know anything about Netgear's products. I've never used them, encountered them, or been briefed on them, so I wouldn't have anything to say about them. I'm sure lots of folks are covering and comparing them though!

(Note: Drew appears to be Director of Storage Marketing for Netgear)

Ah, that makes sense and sounds like an opportunity. Let me see what we can do. And yes, I am the Dir of Marketing for our storage products.

It can take *hours* for the app to locate the NAS on your network at set up?

    That seems... impossibly slow.
